by the Gathering Of Developers ( www.godgames.com).
They really outdid themselves this time. Best grafx I've ever seen.
Ever. The system requirements might make you choke, however (P2 400,
128 RAM, 1 gig HD, 16 meg 3D video, SB Live!), but it is well worth it.
When you first play, the game tricks you into turning off the lights for
a monitor calibration. Then the freak show begins. "...the
ghouls overwhelmed the hero, clubbing him with their own severed limbs
before feasting on his guts, And that was right about the time we
knew we couldn't wait to play Nocturne. This game will be causing
some hellacious nightmares.." - Computer Gaming World. As you
can probably tell, this game was rated 'M' for mature, due to "Animated
Blood and Gore, Animated Violence, and Strong Language". It is also
the first computer game I have ever seen to have a parental advisory sticker
for "violence, language, and nudity" (well, that's not entirely true.
Duke Nukem has one for nudity) but this one looks just like the ones on
CDs. Oh well, anyway.. about the game. The hero is a mysterious
man who goes by the name, "Stranger". He belongs to a secret government
installation started by Theodore Roosevelt in 1902 after a grisly confrontation
with a Cuban werewolf in the Spanish American War. By the time the
game starts in 1927, the organization has expanded, recruiting many members,
human and other, including a seductive vampiress by the name of Svetlana,
Baron Samedi, a demi-god from Louisiana, and the most controversial, Moloch
the demon. There are four acts to the game, all completely seperate,
and with several years in-between. Click the left box to see the
official Nocturne page, the right to visit the official fan page.
